Karachi: Gang of kidnappers disbanded
KARACHI: The personnel of Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) Karachi claimed to have busted a network of kidnappers who were involved in the abduction of known dignitaries this year.
The AVCC said that investigation regarding kidnapping of businessmen and dignitaries have been reported in the city during the past few months.
During that period a tip was received through an informer that the suspects were present in Keamari area.
Police teams of AVCC conducted a successful raid and after a brief encounter arrested Imran Yamin, Mohammed Amanullah and Mohsin Hasan Burni.
Moreover, the police recovered one Kalashnikov, two TT pistols and several bullets from the possession of the arrested.
During investigation, accused disclosed that they had kidnapped renowned businessmen for ransom usually from posh localities including Defence, Bahadurabad and Ferozabad area, during the past few months.
They further disclosed that they kidnapped dignitaries including Murtaza, Abdullah, Tayyab Bohri, Majid, Hanif Memon, Arshad and Essa whom they had kidnapped from the areas of Gulshan, Sharea Faisal, Sadar, Defence and Clifton.
