Karachi: Robbers kill bus passenger
KARACHI: A 45-year-old man was killed and a youngster sustained a bullet wound when alleged bandits opened fire on passengers of a minibus in Landhi inside the vehicle on Thursday, police said.
They said three armed men embarked a minibus in the Landhi Industrial Area. Two of them took over the control of the two entrances of the vehicle before their aide pulled out a pistol and demanded cash, cellphones and other valuables from the passengers.
“As the gunman was collecting cash and valuables, a passenger scuffled with the suspect,” said an official at the Quaidabad Police Station. “The situation prompted one of the outlaws to fire at the passenger, leaving 45-year-old Saleem and 29-year-old Gul Rahman wounded.
In the meantime, the bandits got off the vehicle and fled.”
The wounded were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), where Saleem died during treatment.
