Mirpurkhas: Poultry project’s land occupied
MIRPURKHAS: A poultry project is facing the threat of occupation of its land by powerful encroachers who have occupied two and a half acres of its 12 acres and are selling the remaining land.
District Poultry Development Officer Dr Abdul Aziz Khan told Dawn that he was unable to focus on poultry development because of the problem of encroachment.
Besides occupying the department’s land, including poultry sheds and quarters, he said, the encroachers were building houses where old servant quarters stood. They were also selling the land.
He said that the provincial director-general of poultry department, the director of the poultry project, DCO Mirpurkhas and EDO agriculture had yet to take any action despite his complaints.
The DDO, revenue, Hussain Bux Mari Taluka, visited the place on the DCO’s directives but no action was taken, he said. He said that he was receiving threats of dire consequences from the encroachers.
