Bannu: 6 killed in suicide attack
PESHAWAR: A suicide bomber blew himself up near a police station in northwest Pakistan on Tuesday, killing at least six people, Dawn News reported.
The bomb exploded in the town of Bannu, which lies close to lawless tribal belt on the Afghan border.
“It was a suicide attack. The bomber came on foot and detonated himself near a police van close to a police station,” Bannu police chief Iftikhar Khan told AFP.
Police and medics earlier said two people were killed.
“Our van was the target of the blast. It killed one police official and wounded another policeman,” local police official Raza Khan told AFP.
A civilian was also killed and several other local people wounded, he said.
