Peshawar: Bombing bid foiled
PESHAWAR: Local police foiled a major terrorism bid and defused explosives placed in a pressure cooker at a taxicab stand in Lakhkar Killay on Monday.
It was learnt the senior police officials received a phone call that terrorists had placed explosives in a pushcart inside a taxi stand in Lakhkar Killay in the jurisdiction of Faqirabad Police Station.
Heavy contingents of police besieged the area and bomb disposal unit experts rushed to the site.
The experts recovered 15 kilograms of explosive powder along with four detonators and as many batteries and fuses.
A remote-control device was also found in the pushcart. The experts later defused the bomb.
