2 target killers arrested in Karachi
KARACHI: The police team of Shah Faisal Town claimed to have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the murders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activists on Wednesday.
SP Shah Faisal Town Shad Ibne Masih said on early Wednesday morning, a police team of Shah Faisal Town was carrying out checking near Jauhar Moore and saw motorcyclists who seemed suspicious.
The policemen signaled them to stop but instead the riders opened fire. This was retaliated and after an encounter Shahzad alias Shahjee and Yaseen were arrested.
2 TT pistols and a motorcycle (KBD-096) which was snatched from the area of PS Sharea Faisal were also recovered,” he added.
During interrogation Shahzad disclosed that along other accomplices, he kidnapped and killed three activist and sympathisers including Shahid alias Charbi, Sabir and Shahbaz, an MQM activist from Pehlwan Goth.
The culprits left their bodies in their car near Malir Halt on October 15, 2010. An FIR was registered at PS Sharea Faisal.
“Shahzad and his gang members kidnapped and killed Zeeshan, an MQM activist, in PS Shah Faisal Colony remit on June 24, 2010 and also attacked a unit office of MQM on July 24, 2010.
The men are also involved in robberies, illegal occupation of flats and extortion cases. Further disclosures are expected, and efforts are underway to arrest the remaining gang members,” SP Shad Masih maintained.
