Islamabad: 49 maids arrested in 4 months
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested 49 housemaids during the last four months, who were involved in stealing valuables and committing organised dacoities in various houses after getting job as housemaids, a police spokesman said.
The women having links with the criminals show themselves very poor to the owners of the houses and request them to accommodate them as housemaids.
They look for an opportunity to strike and steal the valuables after getting the confidence of the house inmates and deprive them from their belongings.
During the last four months, Islamabad Police received several such complaints at the police stations. The police succeeded to arrest 49 women for their involvement in theft and dacoity cases.
The Islamabad Police have appealed to the citizens to get complete verification about such women before accommodating them in their houses and keep their identification documents with them to avoid any problematic situation in future.
It has been also decided by the Capital Police to launch the campaign to create awareness among the citizens about this issue.
It is also observed that such women offer their services at low wages, try to steal valuables or other items from very first day and call their accomplices to hit house after intoxicating house inmates.
Such women remain in jail and start criminal practices again after their release.
Senior Superintendent of Police Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan said that it is the duty of police to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens but people should adopt precautionary measures themselves to avoid any kind of such mishaps.
