Drug addicts escape in Timergara
TIMERGARA: Joint efforts of police and political activists to rehabilitate drug addicts proved aimless when 22 newly admitted addicts ran away from the rehabilitation centre, informed sources told Dawn on Thursday.
They said the Lower Dir Police had brought 22 drug addicts from various parts of the district to be admitted to the rehabilitation centre set up by the social welfare department a year ago.
During the last five days, 22 drug addicts were admitted to the rehabilitation center after Police arrest. But all of them ran away after quarreling with the officials on duty, sources said.
