Lahore: Killer awarded life sentence
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Nasim Ahmad Virk on Monday awarded life imprisonment along with the fine of Rs0.2 million to one accused, Muhammad Islam, of a murder case registered at Kahna Police Station in 2005.
Muhammad Islam had killed Rizwana’s uncle Muhammad Amin, resident of Pandowali, when Amin refused to Islam’s proposal of marrying his niece Rizwana.
As per FIR, Islam allegedly had grudge over the refusal by Rizwana’s uncle as she was living with Amin’s family. One night at about 8pm, the convict Islam came with an unknown person and opened fire on Amin.
Later, he was brought to General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The petitioner and father of Rizwana, Imdad Hussain claimed in his statement he saw Islam and other unknown person fleeing from Islam’s residence.
