Islamabad: 3 fake cops among 12 arrested
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested 12 persons including three persons posing themselves as cops from Punjab Police from various areas of the city, a police spokesman said here Tuesday.
Sub-Inspector Muneer Ahmed from Koral Police stopped a vehicle (LXM-4007) having revolving light at Koral Chowk and asked for the identification to three car occupants.
They described themselves as policemen from Punjab Police but could not prove their identity. Later, these persons identified as Muhammad Nadeem, Arif, Aamir Majeed were arrested and case was registered against them at Koral Police Station.
Meanwhile, I-9 police arrested five persons Hanif, Saragh, Nawab Ali, Bismillah, Mirbaz for their alleged involvement in theft case while two 30-bore pistols were recovered from Oman and Irfan.
Shalimar Police arrested Nadeem Ahmed for his alleged involvement in theft case while Shehzad Town Police arrested an accused Shehzad Khalid for having three wine bottles.
Cases have been registered against the arrested and further investigation is underway.
