Faisalabad: FIA nabs 3 human traffickers
FAISALABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday arrested a couple and another man on charges of receiving Rs9 million from a family to send them abroad.
The accused have been identified as Salamat, his wife Gul Naz and Aamir Masih of Khushab. They were taken into custody from Sargodha.
Javed Nawaz filed an application with the FIA, saying the accused had received Rs9 million to send him and some of his relatives to United Kingdom. However, the accused neither sent them abroad nor returned the amount.
Sources said Salamat had been working as driver with a British national, Tony, who, according to the accused, had promised to send people to the UK. Following his promise, Salamat said he had handed over amount to Tony.
FIA Sub-inspector Aslam said the Agency had got a three-day physical remand of the men and the magistrate sent the woman on a judicial remand.
