Islamabad: Police arrest 285 street criminals
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 285 persons involved in street crimes during the current year and recovered looted items worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.
The Police recovered 220 mobile phones, 21 snatched cars and one motorbike from the criminals.
On the directives of DIG Operations Bani Amin and SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan all police officials and Station House Offices (SHOs) launched aggressive campaign against the criminals.
During the drive, the capital police obtained the record of those persons who had ever remained involved in street crimes and arrested 285 criminals.
City Circle Police arrested 20 persons and recovered 19 mobile phones and cash. Margallah circle arrested 77 accused and recovered 90 mobile phones, one motorbike and looted cash Rs161,000.
Saddar Circle police arrested 44 persons and recovered cash as well as 25 mobile phones. Shahzad Town and Rural Circle arrested 76 persons and recovered 31 cell phones.
Industrial area Circle police arrested 35 persons and recovered 36 mobile phones and cash Rs. 50,000 from them.
Secretariat Circle police arrested 33 persons and recovered 19 mobile phones from their possession.
