Karachi: 106 arrested in crackdown

KARACHI: South zone police have arrested 106 criminals and seized weapons from their possession in crackdown against the criminals, continued for last two weeks.



According to circular issued by DIG South zone Iqbal Mehmood here on Thursday, South zone police started crackdown against the criminals, peddlers and dacoits 14 days ago and have arrested 106 criminals in this connection.

The police have seized 29 TT pistol, hundreds of bullets, 3 repeaters, 5 knives, 8 mobile phones, 4 kg Chars, Heroin, alcohol and looted vehicles and motorbikes from their possession.

The residents of the area were very happy with the arrest of the criminals and expressed hope that the police would continue to conduct such crackdowns in future too. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) seized 17 motorcyles for violation of pillion riding.

The motorcycles will be given back to their owners after Muharram 12. The operation against suspected elements will continue unabated in collaboration with the police, it added.
