Rawalpindi: Constable held for drug peddling
RAWALPINDI: A police constable was arrested red-handed while selling narcotics along with a woman in Westridge area.
The police said Ms Gulnaz had an agreement with two police constables – Irfan Khan and Atif Fayyaz – that she would telephone a drug supplier in Peshawar to bring some heroin.
As he would be delivering the consignment, the police constables would carry out a raid and arrest him (the supplier).
The supplier would only be released after payment of some money while the recovered drug would be handed over to the woman for sale.
Ms Gulnaz and her accomplice police constable Irfan Khan were present in a house in Westridge and were settling their trade when the police led by SI Jehangir raided and captured them.
The police said the woman had been involved in drug peddling for long. However, constable Atif managed to escape.
The investigation officer said he had also seized 110 gms of heroin during the raid.
