Gujranwala: 3 student kidnappers held
GUJRANWALA: The Cantonment police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested three college students involved in kidnapping of a filling station owner’s son for ransom and recovered from them the money they had received from the boy’s family.
The police said Haider Ali, son of Anwar Ali, was kidnapped when he was on his way home from school four days ago. The kidnappers demanded Rs1 million from the family to release the boy.
The kidnappers, however, released the boy after receiving a Rs150,000 ransom from his father.
The police said the suspects identified as Kausar, Nadeem and Mudassar, all resident of Talwandi Khajoorwali Village and students of the local government commerce college, admitted during interrogation that they had received Rs150,000 in cash from Haider’s father as first installment while talks were going on for the payment of the remaining amount.
