Bandits steal Rs 3.2mn gold in Karachi
KARACHI: Unidentified bandits swept clean two jewellery shops located in a shopping mall within the limits of Gulistan-e-Jauhar Police Station on Sunday.
The bandits took away gold worth Rs 3.2 million. SHO Asif Jakhrani said that according to the complainant, unidentified persons stole gold worth Rs 3.2 million from Ikram Sheikh and his neighbouring jewellery shop.
According to details, around 3am to 4am during the wee hours of Sunday five bandits held two watchmen of the mall, Khalid Saleem and Muhammad Khan, at gunpoint, tied them up with ropes and then broke into the jewellery shops.
They stole gold worth Rs 3.2 million from two shops. The SHO said that they have registered a first information report (674/10) on the complaint of one of the shop owners and initiated further investigation.
Police have also detained the two watchmen for questioning. However, no arrests have been made in this regard so far.
