Army official arrested in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: The capital police arrested an Army official after illegal weapons, stamps of ministries and some documents were recovered from his possession on Tuesday.
The police later handed him over to the military police along with the recovery for further action.
Police officials deployed at a picket in Tarnol intercepted a man on suspicion. However, he did not allow the police for a pat-down saying he was an army official.
He also refused to produce his identification cards which further aroused police suspicion. The police took him into custody and recovered an unlicensed pistol, a revolver, five stamps of different ministries, 15 licences and some identity cards from his possession.
The police shifted him to Tarnol Police Station and approached the army authorities who verified his status as a serving armyman.
Later, the military police reached the police station and took him into custody.
