Islamabad: Hotel owner killed
ISLAMABAD: A hotel owner was murdered on the premises of his house by a group of armed men on Tuesday, police said.
The victim was identified as Raja Ilyas, a resident of I-8/3 and the owner of Rose Garden Hotel, G-8. The police said three persons entered the house of Raja Ilyas, 55, when he along with his wife, daughter and daughter-in-law were present there. They went straight to Mr Raja and opened fire on him with 30-bore pistols. As a result he suffered four bullet wounds in the upper part of body, including chest and shoulder and fell.
The culprits escaped from the scene leaving behind the injured in a pool of blood.
Later the victim, a native of Gujrat was shifted to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police also reached the spot and started collecting evidence.
Police said that apparently the circumstantial evidences suggested that the murder was committed in revenge. The culprits seem to be Punjabi from their appearance.
However, the victim’s family has not yet recorded their statement neither lodged complaint for registration of the case.
