300 arrested for street crimes in 2010
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police arrested 300 persons involved in street crimes during the year 2010 and recovered looted items worth Rs37.5 million including 229 mobile phones, 44 cars and two motorbikes from them, said a press release.
According to the news release issued by SSP office, DIG Operations Binyamin and SSP Tahir Alam Khan had strictly warned all police officials to adopt a comprehensive strategy to curb dacoities, robberies, thefts and other crimes.
All Station House Offices (SHOs) and other police officials launched aggressive campaigns against the criminals. They also obtained the record of those persons who had ever remained involved in street crimes.
