Corrupt Capital Police inspector dismissed
ISLAMABAD: An inspector of the capital police was dismissed from service for the second time on Monday for taking bribe from an accused in a kidnapping for ransom case, sources told Dawn.
When the inspector was dismissed in October 2009 on the charge of taking money for releasing a person involved in kidnapping a property dealer, he went to Federal Service Tribunal (FST), which ordered a fresh inquiry. The second inquiry also found him guilty.
The inspector working as acting deputy superintendent of police in Crime Investigation Department (CID) was found guilty in 2009 of taking Rs505,000 from MM.
The inspector had played a central role in tracing and arresting MM and recovering the kidnapped man, Amir Shahzad Cheema, a property dealer.
