KARACHI: A seminary student was killed inside a minibus near Bahadurabad, police said.

They added that Ahsanullah, in his early 20s, was targeted by two men shortly after he got into the minibus after attending regular classes in the Madressah in Bahadurabad area.

“Passengers told the police that two men entered the bus while following the victim,” said SSP Amir Farooqi of Jamshed Town.

“One of them pulled out a pistol and fired a single shot at Ahsanullah before the two got off the bus and ran away.”

The body was later shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, the police said.

“Actually the victim was a resident of Sherpao Colony of the Landhi area, where he and his family became embroiled in a dispute with one of their neighbours and had a heated argument with them,” said SSP Farooqi.

The victim’s father blamed the neighbours for the killing, the SSP said, adding that the family had been missing since early morning that strengthened the allegations.
