Attock: Murder accused sent to judicial lock-up
ATTOCK, Jan 7: The main accused in the murder of a moneychanger and robbery was sent to judicial lock-up after the expiry of his remand in police custody here on Friday.
Police sources said the accused, Fazaldad, former bank manager and friend of the deceased moneychanger Shah Rehman, was sent to district jail after expiry of his eight-day physical remand.
During interrogation, police claimed to have recovered Rs2.5 million out of the total looted money of Rs4.26 million and the weapon used in the murder from the possession of the accused.
However, investigation team failed to recover the remaining looted amount of Rs1.76 million. The police also could not trace the unknown co-accused, sources said.
It is worth mentioning here that the Saddar police station on the report of the deceased’s nephew, Amraz Khan, registered a case against Fazaldad and his three unidentified accomplices for their alleged involvement in the killing of currency changer Shah Rehman near Shakardara village on December 15 after looting Rs4.26 million from him.
Shah Rehman is said to be a cousin of DIG Operation Islamabad Bin Amin.
