Karachi: Body found
KARACHI: A 55-year-old labourer was found shot dead in Shershah on Friday. Some passers-by spotted the body lying along Lyari Expressway near Shershah and informed the area police. “The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities,” said an official at the Shershah police station.
“The victim, later identified as Sultan Mohammad, was hit by two bullets fired from a very close range. Besides, a few bruises seen on the face and other parts of the body indicate that he was tortured before being killed,” the police official said.
The victim worked as a labourer in one of the warehouses of the scrap market and resided in the same facility. “In fact, he hailed from Bajaur Agency and settled here many years ago,” the official said.
He added that the victim’s family resided in their native village.
“We are waiting for his family members, who are expected to arrive, before registering an FIR,” the official said, suspecting some personal enmity as a motive behind the murder.
