Minor girl critical after rape in Umerkot

UMERKOT, Jan 13: A minor girl is reportedly in critical condition after being raped two days ago. The incident happened near Dhoronaro town.

A resident of village Haji Khan Mohammad Mangrio got an FIR registered at the Dhoronaro police station, accusing one Raichand Kohli of raping his eight-year-old daughter.

He stated that his minor daughter went to a neighbour`s house to watch television but on way back was abducted by the nominated man who took her to the jungle and raped her.

The girl remained missing for a whole day and night and was found on Wednesday in unconscious condition from bushes near the village, he stated.

A lady doctor at the district headquarters hospital of Umerkot confirmed the incident after conducting medico legal examination of the girl.

Later, the girl was referred to a Mirpurkhas hospital in critical condition.

Human rights organisations have demanded exemplary punishment to the accused.
