Rawalpindi: Man held in race killing case
RAWALPINDI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) late Thursday apprehended a man accused of Rawalpindi drag-car race killings, Adil Naeem, from Benazir International Airport here while he was preparing to flee abroad.
FIA handed over the accused to Rawaat Police Station, where an FIR in this regard has been registered against the arrested culprit.
Police said that the accused would be produced in the court soon for a remand.
The Supreme Court (SC), on a suo moto action regarding the car racing accident that occurred in Rawalpindi in which five people including three children were killed in December last year, had directed Punjab police high-ups to nab the wanted accused in the case.
It is pertinent to mention here, during the car race in Bahria Town, one of the racers could not control his car and hit spectators, resulting in the death of five persons of three families. The car’s driver fled away.
