Man shot dead over property in Lahore
LAHORE: A 42-year-old man was shot dead during a local assembly over property dispute in Islampura police precincts on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Muhammad Ali Butt, resident of Ichra. Sources in investigating wing of police station concerned however believed the man was killed accidentally. They said a woman Salma Mubbarak had built a home at sham-lot land near Ravi area but the accused Rana Khurashid had forcibly occupied the land and her home.
On Sunday morning at about 8am, the woman along with her neighbourers visited the area in order to settle down the issue with Rana Khurshid. Police investigators said during conversation Mohammad Ali advocated for Salma on which the accused got infuriated and opened fires on the deceased, leaving him in the pool of blood. An ASI said Ali received two gunshots in his chest and died on the way to hospital.
Earlier, SHO Islampura with other cops reached the spot and arrested the main accused Rana Khurshid on the spot.
