Quetta: Drugs worth Rs 728.63 mln seized in 2010

QUETTA: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) seized narcotics worth Rs.728.63 million in raids conducted in parts of Balochistan during the period of 2010.

Briefing the media men about the annual performance of the ANF, here at its regional office on Saturday, the Anti Narcotics Force Commander Brigadier Waheed Akhtar said that 103 raids were carried out in previous year against the drugs peddlers.

 

Thirty-seven search operations resulted into the seizure of huge quantity of drugs worth billions of rupees in international market while cases against 26 people were registered in the same period.

 

Rs.135.43 million of worth narcotics have been recovered so far during the raids carried out since January, 2011, he noted.



 

Brigadier said that on account of Balochistan’s pores border, it is difficult to control drugs trafficking effectively, however ANP makes endeavors to keep vigil on the activities of the elements involved in the business of drugs smuggling.
