Karachi: Assassin of police officers remanded
KARACHI: A man, accused of killing DSP Nawaz Ranjha, SPO Nabi Bux and SHO Brigade police station Nasirul Hasan Butt, was remanded into judicial custody on Monday.
Acting administrative judge, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, perused the remand paper and, refusing further remand, ordered the investigating officer (IO) to hand over custody of the accused, Shakir alias Rafeh, to prison officials.
The IO was also ordered to file a charge sheet against the accused within a week.
The accused was brought to court premises in an armoured personnel carrier and was produced in court amid strict security.
Shakir was arrested from Karachi airport when he was boarding an international flight, the police claimed.
Two of his accomplices, Ishtiaq alias Policewala and Abu Irfan, were arrested earlier and are also in judicial custody.
