Karachi: Car lifters gang disbanded
KARACHI: The Anti Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) has busted an inter-provincial car lifters gang and recovered 15 vehicles, including two motorcycles, and two pistols from their possession.
SSP ACLC Javed Akber Riaz disclosed this while addressing a press conference held at ACLC office here on Monday.
On the directives of Javed Akber, a police party conducted raids at different parts of the metropolis and arrested eight members of an inter-provincial gang, including Shahzad Abbasi resident of Larkana, Nadeem alias Chooha, Arsalan alias Kashif, Attaur Rehman, Jahanzaib, Muhammad Sarwar Arain resident of Bahawalpur, Muhammad Akram and Ali Muhammad resident of Mirpurkhas.
The police party recovered 13 vehicles — AAQ-553 Suzuki Khyber, J-3415 Khyber, CR-9855 Suzuki High-roof, L-8196 Suzuki, GS-2143 Mehran, GS-2113 Mehran, GS 4437 Mehran, GS-2112 Mehran, AKJ-584 Mehran, U-2643 Khyber, V-5996 Mehran, AD-324 Khyber, CK-9923 High-roof, CR-7472 High-roof, one vehicle without number and two bikes.
The SSP said the gang was active in committing crime since 10 years and most of its members were professional criminals.
They used to commit crimes in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulberg Towns, Shahrah-e-Faisal and Jauharabad areas, he said.
