Rs4.9mn looted from Rawalpindi bank branch
RAWALPINDI: Armed persons looted Rs4.9 million at gunpoint from a private bank and injured the security guard on resistance in a congested area of the city on Tuesday.
Four to five armed persons entered a private bank at Sadar City Road in the limits of City Police Station and held the bank staff hostage at gunpoint.
They looted Rs4.9 million after breaking the bank lockers and managed to escape from the scene safely.
They also injured the security guard of the bank when he resisted.
The City police have registered a case against the unknown armed persons and started search for the culprits. Till filing of this report police made no arrest in this regard.
