2 convicted in murder case in Sargodha

SARGODHA: Special Judge Anti-Terrorist Court Mian Anwar Nazir Thursday handed down death penalty on two counts with a fine of Rs 500,000 each to two accused of a murder case of Kalorkot police station district Bhakkar.

According to the prosecution, the convicts- Zaheer and Hassan Raza along with Nadeem Khan and Saifullah had killed a 10th class female student d/o Muhammad Shafiq by throwing acid. The court awarded 26 years rigorous imprisonment collectively and fine of Rs 680,000 to co-accused Nadeem and Saifullah. Sillanwali police claimed to have seized 600 bottles of liquor from an ice factory and arrested two accused on Thursday.

 

Police said, on a tip-off, a police party headed by SHO Malik Tariq Awan raided an Ice factory in the premises of Sillanwali and recovered 600 bottles, Rs 7,000 in cash and arrested two accused identified as Atta Muhammad and Muhammad Arif while their three accomplices- Saleem, Hameed and Asghar managed to escape. A case has been registered against the accused.
