Peshawar Police fail to arrest rapists
PESHAWAR: Police have failed to arrest any of the accused involved in the gang rape of a girl student at University Town.
An official of the Town Police Station said the girl belonging to Rawalpindi had stated that she was residing in Executive Girls Hostel.
But when she came out of the hostel to find some medicine after she fell ill at 9pm on Thursday three unidentified youth forcefully took her to a bungalow and gang-raped her the whole night.
“In the morning, as I gained conscious the accused had disappeared,” the official said quoting the girl.
The official said the police would get medical report in the case but the interrogation process could not proceed because of the sudden transfer of the concerned investigation officer.
“The new investigation officer has arrived and he will look into the case,” the official said.
However, a source revealed that some influential persons were obstructing the interrogation and trying to change the actual medical findings.
