Lahore: Greedy son’s remand extended
LAHORE: Judicial Magistrate Izharul Alvi on Monday extended for four days, physical remand of Naveed Iqbal and Abbas, the accused of killing parents of Supreme Court Justice Javed Iqbal at Cavalry Ground residence of the deceased on January 11.
Abdul Hameed, former DIG, Quetta who was strangulated to death along with his second wife, allegedly by three persons, including his son, Naveed, apparently to satisfy their greed of money.
The said two accused were brought before magisterial court at Model Kutchehry, where the prosecution counsel, Rana Bakhtiar urged the court for the grant of further eight days’ police remand as the third accused was still at large and said two needed to be interrogated in this regard.
The accused, Naveed, grieved that the police were not allowing his relations to see him in custody and prayed, a direction may be passed to the police to grant them permission. The accused also prayed for committing him to judicial custody as investigations from him stood complete.
