KARACHI: The counter terrorism unit (CTU) of the Crime Investigation Unit (CID) on Tuesday claimed to have arrested six persons involved in several heinous offences in the metropolis.
According to police, CTU had received a tip-off that some culprits facing serious criminal charges were hiding at different vicinities of SITE, Shah Faisal and Gulshan-e-Iqbal town.
On this information, the CTU conducted raids at different parts of SITE, Shah Faisal and Gulshan-e-Iqbal town and arrested six accused Abdul Rehman alias Adray, Muhammad Ali Jan alias Ali, Muhammad Zakir, Akram, Waqas alias Vikki and Atiq-ur-Rehman.
When contacted, SP Chaudhry Aslam confirmed arrest of six culprits in raids. He said they were nominated in several criminal cases, including two murders at Pirabad, street crimes, robberies, attempt to murder, etc and added that the department has started investigation.
