Rawalpindi: Court rejects bail applications of two accused
RAWALPINDI: Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Iqbal Chaddar on Wednesday rejected the pre-arrest bail plea of Rawalpindi Bahria Town’s chief security officer Col (r) Rafaqat in car rally killing case and ordered the police to arrest him from the courtroom.
Rafaqat was allegedly among the organisers of the car rally in Rawalpindi on December 05 last year. Five persons were killed when a speedy car ran over the people gathered to watch the car race. The accused applied for the pre-arrest bail plea, which the court rejected and ordered his arrest.
The court also rejected the post-arrest bail plea of Waleed Aman, another accused in the case. Waleed is in police custody and he has moved the court for post-arrest bail pleading that he was not involved in organising the car rally. After hearing the case the court rejected his plea.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had arrested another accused Adil Naeem for his involvement in the case from Benazir International Airport when he was fleeing abroad.
The accused was handed over to Rawat police station where a case has been registered against him.
Police said that the accused would be produced soon in the court for his remand in the case.
