Lahore: Client wins case against fashion designer
LAHORE, Jan 27: The District Consumer Court on Thursday ordered a fashion designer to pay Rs13,200 to a customer seeking damages of Rs57,700.
Complainant Shabnam Chaudhry submitted to the court that she bought a readymade dress from Naila, a fashion designer in DHA, Lahore, for Rs7,700 on July 1, 2010, for a function.
She said the suit caused her skin allergy and a lot of embarrassment at the function. She said the dress caused her skin allergy because it was a used one. She said she asked the designer to return her money or give her a new dress, but she turned down both options.
She prayed to the court to order the defendant to compensate her with Rs57,700 — Rs7,700 for the dress and Rs50,000 for the mental torture she suffered and the amount she spent on legal action against the designer.
