Proclaimed offender nabbed in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: The Margalla police have arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) wanted in a murder case registered in October 2008.
Mohammad Arif was arrested on Tuesday in a successful raid in Sector G-8.
The PO along with his accomplice Shahbaz Anjum killed Mohammad Nadeem after a scuffle during a football match at G-8/2. The investigators had arrested Anjum and produced him in the court of law.
However, Arif, a native of Abbottabad escaped from capital and the court declared him a proclaimed offender.
During the period of more than two years the police hunted him in parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh, but remained unsuccessful.
On a tip off that the PO has returned to Islamabad and was staying in G-8, the investigators raided there and arrested him.
