Man found shot dead in Karachi
KARACHI: A man was found shot dead inside his house in a Malir locality on Wednesday, police said. They said that it was still unclear if the man, identified as 45-year-old Mohammad Rehan, committed suicide or someone killed him.
The police said the victim was found lying in a pool of blood on his bed in the morning in his home in the Indus Mehran Housing Society within the remit of the Khokhrapar police station.
“The victim was running a thread-manufacturing unit in his house,” said DSP Baqar Junejo, the area`s supervisory police officer. “A pistol apparently used in the shooting was also found in the room.”
He said that a single bullet had hit the victim in the head.
The deceased was the father of three and had no dispute with anyone, said the official citing a statement of the family members. However, he said, the police were not sure about the exact nature of the incident and it was a little too early to declare the incident as a suicide.
“We are waiting for the post-mortem report and the forensic report of the pistol found in the room. Further investigations will follow the findings of the reports,” said DSP Junejo.
