Islamabad: Servant arrested for depriving owner from Rs8.3mn
ISLAMABAD: Shalimar Police Islamabad have arrested three accused including a person given job as a domestic servant in a house in sector E-11/3 for depriving his owner from gold ornaments worth Rs 8.3 million, along with his accomplices within four days after his induction.
According to details, Major (retd) Atta Ullah resident of House No.732, Street No. 44, Sector E-11/3 registered a complaint with Shalimar police station on January 27 that a person who told his name as Saeed was given the job in his house as domestic servant around four days before.
He further alleged in this compliant that this person fled after taking away gold ornaments worth Rs. 8.3 million from his house.
Following this complaint, DIG (Operations) Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam directed SP (Saddar) Khuram Rasheed to arrest the culprits involved in this theft case. SP Khuram Rasheed under the supervision of ASP Margallah Faisal Bashir Memon constituted special team which include Assistant Sub-Inspectors Saleem Raza, Malik Muhammad Mumtaz, Head Constables Moajiz Shah and Tauqeer Abbass.
This team succeeded to arrest three persons within a short time and recovered gold ornaments worth Rs. 8 million, two 30 bore pistols, 10 rounds and dagger from their possession.
The nabbed persons were identified as Zaheer alias Saeed s/o Muhammad Akbar resident of Abbottabad, Shaukat Malik s/o Khani Zaman resident of Abbotabad,Arshad s/o Muhammad Ashraf resident of Golra, Islamabad.
It is to mention that Islamabad Police have issued advisory through media several times to get complete verification about the biodata of people before accommodating them at job of domestic servant or any other.
People offer their services at low wages and look for opportunity to strike and steal the valuables after getting the confidence of the house inmates and deprive them of their belongings.
Senior Superintendent of Police Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan said that it is the duty of police to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens but people should adopt precautionary measures themselves to avoid any kind of such mishap.
Police, however into this particular case, have obtained five days physical remand of these nabbed persons from concerned court and further investigation is underway from them.
DIG Operations Bani Amin Khan has appreciated the performance of police team of Shalimar police station and announced cash prizes as well as commendation certificates for members of police team.
