Karachi: 4 students hurt in separate clashes
KARACHI: At least four students were injured in separate clashes between two student organisations at different institutions here on Thursday.
According to the police, a series of clashes, which erupted between Pakhtun Students Federation (PSF) and Jamiat Talba Islam (JTI), started at Government Gulshan Degree College (GDC) at noon and later extended to the Federal Urdu Science University.
The clash at GDC started when the activists of both the student organisations exchanged hot words, which led to aerial firing, baton-charge and pelting stones.
The activists of both organisations escaped from GDC as soon as the police reached the spot. They met at the Federal Urdu College where an exchange of fire took place between the members at a nearby pedestrian bridge.
An activist Iftikhar-ul-Islam, son of Abdul Islam was injured and carried to a private hospital. No case was registered as none of the activists filed any complaint at the police station, police officials stated.
