Bail plea of robbery accused rejected in Karachi
KARACHI, Feb 14: A sessions court dismissed on Monday the bail application of an accused in a robbery case.
Shariq and Zeeshan have been charged with allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint in Shah Faisal Colony in December last year.
Accused Shariq through his lawyer moved the bail plea before Additional District and Sessions Judge (east) Waseem Iqbal, who dismissed it after hearing arguments from both sides.
According to the prosecution, on Dec 28, 2010 Wakeel Ahmed along with his driver went to the branch of a private bank in Shah Faisal Colony to deposit Rs20,000, but two armed men came there and snatched the money. The police managed to arrest the accused on Jan 5 and later they were remanded in judicial custody.
A case (FIR 692/10) was registered under Sections 395 (punishment for dacoity) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Shah Faisal Colony police station.
