Karachi: Man killed; his wife and son injured
KARACHI: A man was shot dead while his wife and minor son sustained injuries near Nerang Cinema within the limits of Super Market Police Station.
The incident took place during the wee hours of Monday, when the victim Imran Hussain alias Bukram, 32, son of Khalid Hussain was going home after attending a marriage ceremony of his sister in his car along with his wife Nausheen and five-year-old son Aneeq.
As they reached near Nerang Cinema, Jhanda Chowk, Liaquatabad, four armed men intercepted their car and opened indiscriminate firing on them.
Imran died on the spot while his wife and minor son sustained injuries. After committing the crime the culprits managed to flee from the scene.
Police shifted them to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities and medical treatment.
SHO Nasir Mahmood said the victim was the resident of Surjani Town and came to Liaquatabad No 2 to attend his sister’s wedding, adding that he used to run a rent-a-car.
The SHO said the victim had married twice and had some dispute with his second wife and his in-laws, adding that the victim was the father of two children.
He further said that there are strong probabilities that his in-laws might be involved in his murder. The victim’s family took his body for burial process and they said they would register the case after the burial. Investigation has already been started.
