Karachi: 2 bandits killed, one overpowered
KARACHI: South Zone police on Tuesday claimed to have killed two notorious bandits and arrested another in an encounter in Sacchal area.
DIG South Iqbal Mahmood stated this at a press conference, held at Darakhshan Police Station here on Tuesday.
He said a joint operation was conducted by Clifton and Chakiwara police stations at House No 52 of Rizwan Housing Society in Sacchal area.
He said the bandits opened fire on police personnel when they were sealing off the house. As the police retaliated, two notorious bandits Imran alias Burmal and Ali alias Boss were killed while their accomplice Adnan was arrested.
He said the police have recovered four TT pistols, one repeater and three passports from their possession.
The DIG said the bandits were nominated in around 100 crime cases, including murder, attempt to murder, robberies, etc and added that Kamran, brother of Imran, was also killed in an encounter last year.
He said the bandits belonged to a notorious underworld gang of Lahore ‘Nomi Butt group’, adding that they were also nominated in the murder of Shams Bihari.
