Four killed in Lahore violence
LAHORE: Four people were killed in separate incidents while a woman succumbed to her burns at a hospital during the last two days. Misri Shah police said 45-year-old Ifrahim was killed on Wednesday when two groups traded fire over a dispute of displaying mountain models in connection with Eid Miladun Nabi in Tezab Ahata.
The victim, father of three, was trying to mediate between two groups led by Sunny and Shahzad who first exchanged harsh words over a street blockade and then opened fire on each other.
A case was registered against 10 people, including two women, and two unidentified people of both groups.
Abbas alias Bhola, 50, was killed when he caught up in an exchange of fire between two groups in Sodiwal on Wednesday.
Nawankot police said Abbas of Chunian was passing through the spot when a bullet hit him fatally.
Sohail and Suleman exchanged harsh words with their friends Fary, Gagu, Arslana and Aamir over some dispute and later opened fire on each other.
Wahdat Colony police said Fahad Majeed, 24, was shot dead by his business partner Rashid Butt over a monetary dispute on Ferozepur Road near Muslim Town Mor on Thursday.
Fahad of Sharqpur, who dealt in a signboard business and sale of old motorcycles, demanded Rs700,000 he had lent to Rashid Butt. An exchange of words took place between the two before Rashid opened fire on Fahad.
Sherakot police said Waheed, 40, was gunned down by his neighbour over a dispute of children on Khayam Road on Thursday.
