4-year-old kid shot dead in Sukkur
SUKKUR: A four-year-old boy and a robber were killed during a police encounter near the railway crossing in New Pind on Sunday afternoon.
A group of armed robbers raided Ghulam Mustafa Abbasi’s tractor shop on Racecourse Road and looted cash worth Rs20,000, prize bonds, a mobile phone and a motorcycle.
A police mobile arrived and an exchange of fire broke out between the law enforcers and the robbers.
Four-year-old Attequr Rehman, son of Ghulam Nabi Rind, was standing at his doorstep and was shot in the chest. He died on the spot.
The police arrested a robber and seized two pistols, the prize bonds and the motorcycle.
One of the robbers, Ajmal Shaikh, was also shot in the firing and when his accomplice, Nazir Kahndhro, tried to help him, they were both caught by the police.
Meanwhile, two of their accomplices escaped. The injured robber was taken to Civil hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Sukkur B Section Police Station’s head constable said the police have registered a case against the four robbers on the complaint of Ghulam Mustafa Abbasi.
