2 NATO oil tankers torched in Dhaddar
QUETTA: Unidentified terrorists torched two NATO oil tankers on Thursday in Dhaddar, Bolan district, around 125 kilometres from the provincial capital.
Official sources said three oil tankers carrying fuel for NATO troops stationed in Afghanistan were on their way to Kandahar from Karachi when unidentified terrorists on motorbikes opened fire on them in Dhaddar.
As a result, the tankers caught fire and were completely destroyed. However, no casualty was reported in the attack. The assailants managed to escape from the scene after committing the crime.
Balochistan Levies personnel reached the site and cordoned off the area soon after the incident and started a search operation in the area for the culprits. “Two oil tankers were completely destroyed in the attack, however, the drivers and the helpers have been rescued,” a levies official said, adding that investigations into the attack were underway.
Separately, a man was killed and two others sustained injuries in Wadh, Khuzdar district when unidentified terrorists opened fire on a container carrying military hardware for NATO forces deployed in Afghanistan. The levies personnel reached the attack site soon after the incident and started investigations.
