Faisalabad: Life bid on Shumaila’s uncle; case registered
FAISALABAD: Chak Jhumra police have registered a case against unidentified people on charge of attempting to kill Muhammad Sarwar, paternal uncle of Shumaila Kanwal who committed suicide after her husband Faheem was allegedly killed by Raymond Davis.
Muhammad Faheem of Faisalabad was allegedly killed by American national Raymond Davis in Lahore on January 27 and his widow, Shumaila, committed suicide.
After her death, Shumaila’s uncle Muhammad Sarwar of Chak Rasoolpur Nethri was pursuing the case due to which he and his family received life threats.
On Wednesday, unidentified people forced their entry into the house of Sarwar and gave him poisonous pills.
He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. A team of doctors washed his stomach and he is improving, the hospital administration said.
A special police team was also been constituted to nab the accused, but no arrest could be made till the filing of the report.
