Karachi: SIU arrests alleged TTP member
KARACHI: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Sindh police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a suspected member of the banned outfit, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in Landhi and recovered a weapon from his possession.
The detained suspect, identified as Rahim Zada alias Sher Muhammad, son of Abdul Wakeel, was stated to be associated with the TTP.
He was arrested with a weapon in a raid at Feature Colony, Landhi. Officials said Muhammad was not only nominated in a number of crime cases but was also placed in the most wanted list of Malakand Agency.
They said that Muhammad, who was booked in several cases of crime, including kidnapping for ransom and attacks on check posts, had escaped from Malakand Agency and was hiding at Feature Colony in Landhi. They further said a case was registered against the accused and further investigation was underway.
