Lakki Marwat: Protesters accuse Nadra of demanding bribe
LAKKI MARWAT, Feb 24: Flood affected residents of different union councils staged a protest demonstration on Thursday against the officials of Nadra `for using delaying tactics and demanding bribe for issuing Watan Cards`.
The government has set up a facility in town hall of Lakki city to facilitate flood victims to get their Watan Cards. On Thursday, a good number of affected people from Begukhel and Darra Tang union councils visited the centre where officials reportedly used delaying tactics in provision of Watan Cards.
The unbecoming and impolite attitude of the officials enraged the flood survivors who took out a protest procession from the town hall. The protesters marched on Lakki-Tajazai and Lakki-Darra Tang roads.
“The use of delaying tactics on part of officials concerned has made getting Watan Cards a hard nut to crack for the flood victims,” they said, alleging the affected people were being compelled to pay bribe for getting the cards.
Later, police assured the protesters that the administration would make all out efforts to facilitate them in getting the Watan Cards without any difficulty.
