3 held for making kites, twine in Lahore
LAHORE: The police claimed to have seized a huge cache of kites, twine and other material and arrested three people during a raid on a storehouse in Shahdara.
According to a press release issued here, City Division SP Shahzad Asif formed a police team after he learnt that some people were making and selling kites and twine in the area despite a ban on the sport.
The police team raided a storehouse near Faisal Park and seized 100,000 kites, hundreds of chemical coated twine spools and a huge cache of material used in making kites and twine. The material seized from the storehouse was enough to make 50,000 kites.
During the raid, police also arrested Kite Flyers Association’s vice-president Muhammad Hafiz, Ghulam Nabi and Zohaib, the press release said.
Shahdara police registered a case against the arrested men.
